On Sundays, we’ve been doing board game night at our apartment. The picture above is when we first introduced the Settlers of Cataan Cities & Knights expansion pack to the broader group. Given we had so many people, everyone had to pair up. See Ethan and Michael rocking the Maruchan bucket hats. See Ferranti looking butthurt about him and Tiernan losing. See the multiple nicotine vapes, Prime Energy Drink and High Noon. Nate and I ended up winning this game. It became us two vs. Ethan and Michael, constantly bisecting each other’s roads to maintain the two points from Longest Road.

In this photo, you get to see the backs of my dad, brother and mom, as we walk to a restaurant in Whistler. I like the muted colors in this photo. They make the mountains in the back seem almost soft and rolling.

After our ski trip in Whistler, my dad, mom and I spent a day exploring Vancouver. We had to take a ferry to get across the water. Here, you can see my dad walking across a metal board walk, while the small ferry in the top right comes to the stop and picks us up. I think this photo does a nice job of naturally guiding your eyes forward with the rails towards my dad.

Once we got to the other side of the waterway, we explored the small shops in this area in Vancouver. As we were walking, I noticed a factory in the area. The painted drums with cartoon-like people on them were a fun contrast to the brutal machinery that surrounded it. I wish the colors on the people popped a bit more in this picture.

Tess and Michelle at Ultra Miami 2024. I think this photo was actually at the Brownies and Lemonade concert on Friday night. Thank god that concert was indoors. It was pouring rain all day, and we ended up leaving the actual music festival early because it was completely miserable. It was so much fun seeing Kaskade and Allison Wonderland do a B2B techno set. Nothing crazy about the photo itself here. Just a great time with great people.

After going out until 5am in Miami, we needed a day of relaxation. Thankfully, the weather was amazing, and we had the most chill day at the beach. We stopped by TJs beforehand and picked up all the snacks you’d want for a beach day. I also just love the beach in Miami. The water clear and blue, and the sand isn’t filled with a million rocks.

I took this photo after checking out a vintage clothing store in the East Village with Tiernan. This area is pretty close to that weird 4th avenue area. Does 4th ave even exist? Anyways, I like the shadows in this one. It makes the windows on the red building seem even more defined. I also like how the roof of the red building curves gently, which contrasts with the sharp, straight lines of the two buildings on the left.

Final regular season game for the Timberwolves. I think this photo does a pretty good job of capturing the energy that the team had all season. Pure fire and passion. Ironically, I’m writing this blog post on the day we lose in the Conference Finals to Luka and the Dallas Mavericks. Not all stories end well, but that doesn’t mean we can’t hold our heads up high after a strong season. If you would’ve told me that we’d make the Conference Finals this year, I would’ve taken it with a smile on my face. It was a great season. Tiernan and I would always watch games after work once we got home. My uncle and cousins had a group chat where we would celebrate and commiserate everything about the team. Jackson, Tiernan and I would FaceTime after big games. Professional sports may just be glorified capitalism, but it’s a fun ride, sometimes.

These last two photos are of Tiernan and Charlie. After getting brunch at Frenchette (their pancakes are fire), I wanted to show Charlie the West Side Highway. It was a beautiful day, and I love showing friends that part of town. It might be my favorite area in all of New York. I was thinking about it, and I bet I’ve run over 2,000 miles on the West Side Highway at this point. Anyways, I love the colors that pop in the first photo. The flower in the middle left. The dragonfly playground structure in the middle right. It was a quintessential spring day in New York City. In the last photo, you can see Charlie looking out into the distance. The furthest point in the middle of the picture is actually the Statue of Liberty.
